Seachem Ammonia Alert – Continuous Ammonia Monitor
Seachem Ammonia Alert is an innovative color-changing sensor that continuously monitors toxic free ammonia in both freshwater and marine aquariums. The sensor changes color from yellow to green to blue depending on the ammonia level, allowing you to instantly detect dangerous conditions in your aquarium.
Ammonia is one of the most common causes of fish loss. This easy-to-use device detects free ammonia levels as low as 0.05 mg/L (ppm) and alerts aquarium owners so they can quickly take action to protect their aquatic life.
Key Features
• Continuous 24/7 ammonia monitoring
• Color-changing sensor for easy reading
• Detects toxic free ammonia, the most harmful form
• Suitable for freshwater and saltwater aquariums
• No chemicals, testing kits, or water sampling required
• Compact design with minimal visual impact
• Long-lasting sensor – effective for over 1 year
How It Works
The sensor responds to ammonia levels and changes color accordingly:
• Yellow (SAFE): No harmful ammonia present
• Green (ALERT): Low ammonia detected – monitor closely
• Blue-Green (ALARM): Harmful levels – action recommended
• Blue (TOXIC): Dangerous levels – immediate action required
• The device responds to ammonia changes in approximately 15 minutes, while reductions in ammonia may take several hours to fully register.
Usage Notes:
• Simply place the sensor inside the aquarium.
• The sensor may take a few days to calibrate with the aquarium water.
• Avoid touching the sensor surface with fingers.
• For best accuracy, read the indicator under natural or daylight-spectrum lighting.
