DR. BASSLEER BIOFISH FOOD CHLORELLA

Is a high-quality, premium, granulated ornamental fish food (freshwater and marine) fortified with the Chlorella fresh water algae. This algae supplement enriches the food with antioxidants, carotenoids, essential fatty acids, vitamins, and trace elements, providing a natural, nutrient-dense diet that supports growth, color, immunity, and regeneration.

Chlorella feed is formulated as a general-purpose base feed or as a component of a feed rotation, suitable for a wide range of species, tank systems, and applications, both in everyday feeding and in recovery support.

Key Benefits.

1. Algae-based nutrition: The addition of Chlorella provides carotenoids (e.g., lutein, astaxanthin), antioxidants (e.g., beta-carotene), essential unsaturated fatty acids (e.g., omega-3), chlorophyll, and trace elements (e.g. iron, iodine, selenium, calcium, folic acid) – all of which are needed to promote healthy growth, immune system, and have a bright color.

2. Plays a role in regeneration and healing: Chlorella contains chlorophyll and nucleic acids that support tissue regeneration and healing, helpful after stress, disease, or environmental changes.

3. Easy to digest and suitable for use in water: Feed is prepared gently to ensure nutrients are not destroyed, making it easy to digest and reducing waste and water pollution, creating a healthier aquarium environment.

4. Applicable to most species: Small livebearers and nano fish to large cichlids, catfish, and marine ornamentals. Chlorella feed fits diverse species because of the different pellet sizes (M, L, XL, XXL) and is nutritionally balanced.

5. Enhances natural coloration and overall vigor: Antioxidants and carotenoids enhance natural coloration; vitamins and fatty acids support metabolic health, growth, immune function, and energy, resulting in active, healthy fish.

Why & When to Use Chlorella Feed.

1. As a primary feeding base: In many species – cichlids, catfish, livebearers, community fish, Chlorella is used as a primary diet that supplements the balanced nutrition with additional health advantages.

2. To enhance appearance and energy: When you want bright, natural color, increased activity, and a healthy metabolism, Chlorella carotenoids and nutrients will help you look and feel that way.

3. After periods of recovery: Water changes, illness, fin/skin damage, etc. – the healing and immune recovery potential of Chlorella (chlorophyll, nucleic acids) has been demonstrated.

4. In mixed-species tanks, the range of pellet sizes and nutrient densities makes Chlorella feed effective for both large and small fish and for species such as bottom dwellers, mid-water swimmers, and surface feeders.

5. As part of a balanced nutrition system, replacing Chlorella with other nutritional supplements (e.g., Fuco, Forte, Green, and Herbal) provides a balanced, comprehensive nutrient profile in long-term care.

Feeding Guidlines.

Select pellet size according to fish size: M when working with small / nano fish (>1 cm), L when working with small-medium (e.g., >5 cm), XL/XXL when working with large fish. Feed once or twice a day, but only enough to feed the fish in a few minutes; otherwise, there will be overfeeding and water pollution. Since Chlorella pellets sink slowly (when small), the fish in all water layers (surface, mid, bottom) receive their portion, which is an advantage of community tanks.

BASSLEER BIOFISH FOOD CHLORELLA is a balanced, algae-enriched pellet food that integrates full ornamental-fish nutritional requirements with natural superfood benefits. It is rich in carotenoids, antioxidants, fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals, which support growth, color, immunity, and regeneration, making it a suitable primary feed or daily supplement in a diverse feeding program. Chlorella is a reliable, efficient option for aquarists seeking good health and color in their fish.

Nutritional & Functional Insight.

Chlorella algae are known for their high nutrient content, including chlorophyll, carotenoids, vitamins, minerals, and essential fatty acids. In aquarium feeds, this translates to improved immune and digestive function, better coloration, and greater resilience. Dr. Gerald Bassleer uses this by incorporating Chlorella into an all-spectrum base diet (fish/crustacean proteins, vegetable derivatives, yeast, minerals), creating a so-called superfood-enriched pellet that surpasses standard feeds.

Digestibility and balanced composition of Chlorella feed are less likely to overload the fish digestive system, reducing stress, enhancing nutrient absorption, and lowering waste that can degrade water quality. This is especially useful in a community or densely stocked aquarium.
